not true they will continue to grow , these that i left for later were only 1/2 to 1 inch high and 1/2 inch around , so really to small to do anything with ,but there are those that will pick them

have picked over 1000 this season now .... picked 100+ yesterday ...season is coming to a close ...had to leave over 60 due to spoilage .... picked all but 5 under a huge dead elm ... have sum awesome video ...they were everywhere .... i keep mine in a glass bowl with damp paper towels on top of the bowl .... and drip water on the towels each day ... can keep for awhile that way .... and as far as longterm ... i cook , let cool, then freeze in ziplok bags

you can dehydrate them, cook them and then freeze or this year i am trying some rolled in flour and then frozen uncooked .
i put mine in a plastic bag open at the top and have kept them close to two weeks in the frig
