Mushrooms?

RE: Mushrooms?
I used to live in Mesick, MI - claims to be "The Mushroom Capital". Lots of morels around there - the locals all have their favorite "secret" spots.
Every year - 2nd weekend in May is the Mushroom Festival. They have a Mushroom Parade, a Mushroom Queen, and lots of food & festivities, including a huge Flea Market.
Many of the locals even eat the "false morels", locally known as "caps" because the top comes off the stem. The stem and top of a true morel is all one piece (look closely at the picture posted above).
Most people get a little sick (or very sick) from eating the caps, but many who do consider it "worth it" (go figure) . I never tried them.

Finally finding some her in Ohio. Went last night and found 18 and went this morning and found 25. They are still kinda scattered out right now so i guess just give it a couple weeks and you will be able to find them by the sackful.

Andrew,
Where are you at in Ohio? I'm just north of Dayton. I figured we would need at least another week or warm weather, but if you are finding them anywhere around here, maybe it is time to start hitting the woods.
