I took my wife and my father with me bowhunting last Sunday(10-13-02). I put Dad in his treestand with the camera, and the wife and I sat in a ground blind across the alfalfa field from him. About 1/2 hour left of daylight, and 2 does came out. Then, we heard some rattling going on on top of the hill side, and 2 small 8 pointers spilled out into the field. They carried on for a few minutes until a bigger 10 point came out and started to spar with the both of them! All within 25 yards of where we were sitting!! Dad got it all on video, and the wife enjoyed the "show" they put on, and may have just turned into a partime bowhunter!!(I hope!!) They stayed there until past dark, so I barked like a dog to spook them off nice and easy, without them "winding" us and really being spooked off badly. They moved off in a slow trot with their flags down, and no damage done. It is a great tip for you bowhunters caught in a stand past light, that need to get out with out doing any damage to your hunting spot. All in all, it was a great trip, and still proves the fact that a successful hunt doesn't always result in the harvest of an animal!!

Sounds like you all had a great time watching and enjoying mother natures show. It beats sitting like a couch potatoe on the sofa and watching anything on the idiot box, anyday !!!!
