Default CLINTON LAKE

Snuffy and I Hit clinton lake yesterday (Saturday). Along with half of all the boats in the state. We Were bobbing like a cork. It was really funny, when we were doing the lake edges not stuck up in some cove. There were fish everywhere, the waves were so bad that the fish were left high and dry inbetween the wave trough's. Was some challenging shooting at the bobbing fish, as well as us bobbing. Plus there was bass fishermen in every cove. Of course they are usually all hunters too, and get all excited about us. They really like it when you wack. We went up in one cove, and there was a dad and son getting all set for a night of cat fishing. I was able to shoot 3 fish with in sight of them, they though it was really cool. We actually shot until dark. Once the sun started to go down, we took off our glasses and could still see fish in the shadow's. As usual had to stop well before we were ready to. Snuffy managed to wack another log. Although this one was a lot smaller than the one he got the other night.

Johnny thanks for telling us about the carpbeing up in Clinton. We went out therelast night for a few hours. We didn't find many carp in the coves, but there were plenty on the flats. It was real windy at first which made the shooting interesting. Eventually the wind died down and we no excuse for missing the fish, other than lousy shooting.

Still, we ended up with 42 carp and 1 buffalo. The buff was 10-12 lbs. We had one 10 lb carp and several other decent ones. Most carp were at least 6-7 lbs.

There is no doubt....that the carp are up at Clinton. The water is down about a foot maybe 18". Oooooooh it would be nice to have a fan boat right now.

If you are looking for a chance to wear yourself out by shooting fish, or you just wanna see what your boat looks like filled to max with carp Clinton Lake is the place right now.

Well said. That was the same thing that we found. A few fish in the coves, but most were out on the lake edges. And on Saturday with all the boats that was quite a challenge.
