How many shots does it take to hit a carp?

[:@]Well Ole Snuffy left this morning in the pouring rain headed for Shelbyville. Got there at 9 and it was clearing with the sun trying to come out. No so with the wind tho..It never gave us a break. After getting 7 fish in the boat, snuffy goes and dry fires his matthews and that is that for it. So we are now sharring my oneida. (which you can dry fire). We are trading after shooting two fish. So Snuffy shoots a 3# carp, gets it up to the boat and it pulls off and swims back up to the same bank were he just shot it. So he shoots again, again, again, and finally after the 5th shot the fish has had enough and goes deep. A bit later it is my turn to shoot. We are in the same cove, on the way out, I say lets go see if that carp has come back. Sure enough there it is. We can see the spot on it where he had shot it before. SO, miss, miss, miss, miss on the 5th shot i Finally hit it and get in in the boat. So the answer is it can take up to 10 shots to hit one fish. We ended up with 31 common and only one black buffalo. We seen quite a few jet black buffalo. Had a couple pull off. Only had one shot at a very small gar. Right at 4 the sky opened up and it poured. I have never been in a boat with it raining that hard. Even the big boats were just putting along. It as almost like dark out. But as always when shooting fish we had a ball. I even got my first double of the year.

sounds fun. i have had the same thing happen to me, one day i shot at this carp in this small creek. i shot at him 7 times before i hit him good enough to get him in. he just kept going back to the same place he was in the beginning, he was either dumb or had a bed there. hopefully it didn't get a chance to spawn. but it sounds like you had a good time and that is all that counts.

Well according to sucker sticker it can take him up to 7 shots. It took Kendall 8 shots once. Glad to see we are in some nice company. KBI-Prez claims that 3 is his most.
