weird looking buffalo-carp.

I shot a weird looking buffalo today. The mouth is on the front of the face, instead of on the bottom, like normal carp. And the head looks more rounded, but there's no mistake it's a buffalo. Mayhbe mixed with another fish?

I got my first bigmouths this year too, at DPCA on Memorial Day with Fishpoint. The 2 big ones I'm holding are them, and a few of the larger ones on the ground too. Totally different shape when you lay a bigmouth next to a smallmouth.
Very 'Blimp-like'.

Oh. Ok. COOL!!!
I SHOT MY FIRST BIGMOUTH BUFF TODAY!!!
It was 11 pounds even.
I also shot another 12 fish. I had a great morning. My troller is a little under-powered for the weed growth out there, so I push-poled it about 90% of the time. It's pretty hard to run down fish with a push-pole. I tried to catch up to a gar I'm sure was a short-nose. I don't remember seeing them there before, but I'm positive the one I saw today was one. But he got away. I also saw a common I'm sure would've gone over 20 pounds, but again, couldn't catch up with out spooking him. And all the fish I shot were in an area we never usually go. All I did was follow my ears. I could hear them sucking the surface, so I'd just push-up to the nearest one and WHACK!! I could have shot a hundred fish today if I had time, but I'm happy with a baker's dozen.

You're welcome buddy. That's what all this is all about. Noone here has any problem putting people on fish. I'm glad you guys got on them.
You make sure you tell your dad that I thought it was great meeting you guys. Anytime we go there, or anywhere else we shoot, you guys are welcome to join us. There's afew cool shoots coming up yet this year. See if you can make one or two.

I've known Steve for years. He plays it straight.
He talked me into going out there thsi afternoon after you guys all left and I got off work. I hadn't gotten 20 yards fromteh launchwhen the sky started leaking on me. Made shooting tough, and I only got 4 total. One of them was a tiny little carp I got from shore before I even had the boat ready.
