RE: Any body else shoot off the bank
thanks for the info. i think i am going to try it this weekend. either friday or saturday. my dad can't go those days and he doesn't like to wade because of back problems. so i am solo either at the des plaines or most likely DPCA.

It's gonna be weedy, and keep and eye out for Poison Ivy.
Most activity is around dawn until maybe 8 or so, but I've found fish at all times of day. If you like those bigmouth buffs you got into on the DesPlaines river, you can get them from area 2, and some spotted and longnosed gar from area 10.
Good luck.
Talk to Fishpoint (Judd) about where to go too.
He does the shore thing out there more often than I do.

I've never been out there in July; weeds will be really high on the bank. I hope you bring your waders.

If you are going toHunter Parking Lot #2, walk across the steel bridge, hang a left and walk the eastern shore. You'll go about 1/2 mileand run into a little bay - fishing is good there. Keep walking the shorearound the bay and you mayrun into a real good spot. Fishing was excellent thereonMemorial Day.
Good Luck.
