went to crab orchard in hopes of clearer water last night, the lake wasnt very high and clarity was decent. not many fish up though. we shot 3 bowfin and 3 carp in almost 2 hrs. went back to rend and shoot my new honey hole
started at 12 and had the tub full and the whole floor of the boat full by 2, 78 fish in total. they averaged 12-14 lb. with 4 weighing 18. big fish for rend. I had a new guy out and he finaly started hitting his share after we were about out of fish. could have easily been over 100 if he could have done better earlier. I lost the push button cover off a new muzzy reel and broke the reel seat foot on another later. Also dont like the position of the anti reverse switch. hit it a lot and man that becomes a nuckle cracker. Gona glue mine locked down before i go again. Fan only uses about 1 gallon every 2.5 hrs. lots better than the genny. I am amazed at how quiet it is. It is quieter than the honda genny at idle and you dont realy start to hear it till it gets to 1/4 throttle. then it becomes more of a wind noise than anything.

Hay, Slim
Robow, KBI-Prez and I went over to our new carp hole today, just to check it out. The manager is really bending over backwards for us to shoot. He is even going to start feeding them dog food to get them to come up sooner. We have complete run of the place including key to the gate, permission slips are on the way. He even said if we shoot enough fish he will bring in a dumpster to throw them in. He said in the summer they are up by the thousands. And he is serious. Even said that we could camp over night if we wanted to . As soon as he starts to see them he is going to give me a call.
Well you are already way ahead of us all with your two outings already. I got down to Turtle creek over the weekend and checked it out. The ranger is really anchious for us all to come and start shooting fish. With it being a warm water discharge lake it warms up quick. The upper North end is the best and their should be fish up now. Only 10 hp limit and $3 a person per boat. nice place. I may try a trip this weekend if we dont go to Clinton lake...johnny b.

Last year Carpbusters.com had bowfishermen report 1,689 carp taken nationwide. If Slim keeps shootingthe carplike this past weekend, he'll beat that number all by himself.

Christine is right Slim is a one man carp carpet...lol lets see you say that 3 times anyhow thats a lot of carp nationwide but if you think about it each carp lays over a million eggs still a lot of fish left.........

2 years ago i kept count of the numbers for a year. I had like 1700 in one year. not all by me but in my boat. not all carp either. I hope to break it this year. lots better boat, know more about where to find fish... only down side is me and bill shot 1-2 days through the week and EVERY sat. rain or shine. we had lots of 100 fish days but a few 10 fish days also trying new water and spots.
