Default Spotting Scopes

In your opinion what is the best spotting scope under $300. I have been looking at purchasing either a burris or a bushnell but I'm open to many options. I prefer a lower power like 15-45, because I dont need a 60x zoom. Thanks

I have looked at the Bausch & Lomb Elite spotting scope and found them to be pretty good. I have never looked at the Burris scopes so I couldn't comment on them. I do have the Leupold Sequoia scope and found it to be all write for my use. The end result in my opinion is you pay for what you get. I have looked thru Swarovski spotting scope and found to be a tremendous difference in quality of optics. If only I had the $$$

I would to agree with Sure Shot about Cabelas. They have them set up side by side so really can see the difference between the scopes. Good luck

You can get a wind river scope (made by leupold) for under $300 and they are very nice glass. Not waterproof though, so if you plan on hunting a lot in the rain, not a good choice. For out west though, a great scope for the money.

Also, take a look at eagleoptics on the net. They sell just about everything (a big birding company) and they have their own label stuff that is reasonable and very good quality.

The Leupold Sequoia Wind river version is 100% waterproof and in my area 20 bucks difference in price. According to my research they are the same scope but the Sequoia is WP vs Water Resist. I posted a similar ? looking for info on Spotting Scopes (budget wise) and Trailer replied suggesting the Elite as well.
