Howdy,
I have a chance to purchase the Zeiss Conquest 3x9 40mm for $279 NEW, instead of the suggested retail of $399.
I am trying to compare this with the Leopold VX-II equivelent at $249 new.
At the moment I am shooting an old Savage .308.
Anyone have an opinion?
Also, With this purchase i can replace my Simmons Whitetail Classic 3X9 50mm. Can I put this scope on my 12 gauge slug gun or will the optics go bye-bye at the first pull of the trigger?
Many thanks,
T

I would not hesitate as the conquest has optics which are superior to the vxiii let alone the vxii.I used the conquest on my 338x8mm which has stiff recoil and it held point of impact with no problems at all.At that price you are getting a bargain.

The conquest would definitely be a deal at that price regardless of what you are comparing it to. It' s defintely a better scope than the vxII, and many say the vari-x III. Where did you find a price like that?

Many thanks to all. Looks like the Zeiss will be the next scope.
I have a contact in the hunting goods business that can get me this price. I cannot reveal it however, I' m sorry.
