Hello everybody.
I am a commercial director and producer. Recently we made a commercial for a major retailer. We are trying very hard to speak to the avid outdoorsman in the language of avid outdoorsman. We hope to work extensively with outfitters and retailers of hunting, fishing, camping and all other outdoor endeavors. I would like to gather honest opinions as to what we are doing well and what we are doing wrong.
The link below is for the :60 version of our most recent commercial. i would appreciate any input anyone may have!

Personally, it doesn't do anything for me. I think that most commercials, especially for hunting and fishing products, are over dramatized for the TV, just like a lot of shows. But it may hit the spot for the younger "hip" crowd.
You know the TV ads that get most of my attention? Primos. Wilbur may be a lot of things, but one thing he certainly knows about is marketing! I want one of those Primos Super Models pretty bad!
If you want realistic ads, use Realistic people in them. You got guys in your commercials that look like they came right out of a Seal team. Many of us can't relate to that!!!

I agree that the hunter looks to much like a model or a member of a Seal Team - hard to relate too after age 55 when I have the funds (at last) to buy upscale outdoor products. Also, I found the music distracting and overly dramatic. Finally, it wasn't until the end that I realized you were advertising footwear.
