Considering buying a new bowhunting jacket. The Dream Season one looks nice, but are there any other better options for a comparable or better price? From what I've read, carbon may be replaced by silver in the near future. I've never bought any scent-lok type jackets and done just fine. I do like the micro fleece, but how does it stand up in the rain?

Here's an honest assessment......
While I'm NOT going to get into a carbon clothing flame thread.....I'll say that I owned the jacket and wasn't impressed. This had NOTHING to do with whether or not the carbon properties/claims were effective......I killed deer wearing it. I simply didn't like the garment due to its' ease of use (or lack thereof).

I guess I shouldn't have focused so much on the scent control aspect in my question. I'm looking for the type of jacket that I can wear from early bow through the end of rifle. I want wind-proof, waterproof, quiet, comfortable, user-friendly, etc. Looked at some Rivers West jackets, and was really impressed. Then I tried them on and couldn't believe how short they were. Felt weird, and I'm not sure how they would do in the field. I also tried on the Dream Season jacket and was pretty impressed, but from your response I'm not so sure now. Any other suggestions?

I have the Pro Hunter jacket from Scent Blocker and really like it, it's water/wind proof, very comfortable, has the zip open orange vest for gun season and best of all, Cabelas has them on sale in the bargain cave for half the price that I paid for it.

Do a google search on "carbon suits" before you invest any money in them.

Apparently the US Military is wrong, since they use carbon in the MOP suits.

1. Carbon Suit manufactured in a big time controlled environment
2. Air sealed at the factory
3. Military person Breaks seal and wear
4. Dispose of suit after one time
5. Not reusable after contamination
Lets not get into specifics again about why this is. Plenty of info out there on the topic.
