Simmons Aetec vs. Prohunter (Master Series)
Hi! i'm getting ready to buy a new scope, and have heard amazing things about the new simmons Master Series scopes. I've shot an aetec around the square on my friends .30/06 and it was dead on. NOW the only thing is determining the dang difference between the AETEC and PROHUNTER scopes! also, does anyone know where i can find one with a discount or lower-than-average price? College kid on a budge here!
thank you

RE: Simmons Aetec vs. Prohunter (Master Series)
From what I have read, the prohunter series is truly a one peice tube. Current scopes offering a one peice tube are actually 2 pieces; the tube and the ocular bell. Somehow, Meade (who owns simmons, weaver, and redfield) has made the entire assembly aout of one piece of aluminum. Also the new pprohunters have a different erector assembly which makes it much more durable and less likey to shift with rough handling and shooting of heavey recoiling calibers. As far as the optics, I haven't heard wether there are any differences. I haven't seen any on the dealer's shelves yet. Check with binuculars.com and swfa to see if they ar shipping

SWFA (www.riflescopes.com) Is now listing the new master series Aetec scopes from Simmons. 2.5x10x44 ranges from 189-229. Seems like it will bve a good scope fro not alot of money.
