I have some buddies that bought Thermo-Cell mosquito repelers. So far they seem to work pretty well for squirrel hunting, they have very little smell, but will they work for deer? Has any body used them for deer hunting? This is one of the worst years for mosquitos I've ever seen. I'm just wondering if I can find a cheeper solution than a Bug Tamer suit.

I haven't used mine deer hunting yet, but I've read other reviews where people have. Everyone claimed that it didn't seem to bother the deer at all. I know it sure works good keeping the bugs off!

I used a ThermaCell when I took this buck http://www.huntinglodge.net/images/deer//Deer0015sm.jpg. Of course, the wind was in my favor. I guess that it's possible for a deer to smell it. But if he smells the ThermaCell, he'll smell you too.

I can't smell mine, but I know it doesn't mean anything as to wether a deer can or not. I do know that if he can smell it he can smell me and if I do not use it he can definetetly see me swatting away at skeeters.[&:]

I tried one last week. Started it up in the truck before I drove to my hunting area, noticed smoke coming from it in the enclosed truck cab. Given that, I suppose it does have a smell to it, although Icouldn't smell anything. Out in the open I couldn't see any smoke so I'm guessing slightbreezes dissapate it quickly. Haven't even seen a deer while using it, so don't know if it effects them or not.
