There's another example of how to prep and pose with your pig in a video I just posted this evening! - check it out:

If you can't watch this video on my blog (because you don't have quicktime), click on the link for the youtube version.

Dont want to sound holier than thou, but they are a bit tasteless.

No, the first one isextremely gay! After all the bugs, the heat, & the missed opportunities, I was pretty excited about having taken my hogs. Isuppose that when a guy's sired 4 male offspring, it helps him not to care in the leastwhen folks question his masculinity.

"Tasteless", to me, however, would be hunting for the purpose oftaking pictures, rather than filling the freezer. "Tasteless" wouldbe going on a hunt with no shooting experience, rather than a few decades worth. "Tasteless" would be spraying lead indiscriminately, rather than passing on shots to ensure a 1-shot kill.

I may pose like a dilettante, but I don't hunt that way.

I know the pictures were meant for fun, but I think they are kinda disrespectful to the hog. Not trying to sound like a PETA member, but one of the reasons I practice so much is to make the best shots possible. Do it out of respect for the animal.

Some folks have no sense of humour. IT's a friggin' HOG ! A nuisance animal.Lighten up guys and gals.

It's his trophy, let him celebrate it however he wants without criticism. I think your pics are funny and in perfect taste. Thankyou for sharing Folically Challeged!

Actually, I have a great sense of humor. Being a LEO I have to. When you deal with the scum of the earth on a daily basis you have to find humor in pretty much everything.

I also know how destructive hogs can be. Our land in Williamsburg county is infested with them. They have run out most of the deer and taken a toll on the turkey population. I think we may have run them out of the general area for now, but once the farmers cut the corn fields they will be right back.

However, I still think the pics show no class. No matter if its a hog or not. Just like I will not hunt with the guys who stick the hogs and then call their dogs off only to let the hogs run off and bleed to death. Not for me.

However, I still think the pics don't show any class.

I can't fault anyone for their opinion. I have never hunted with anyone you described. Only hogs we leave laying after sticking or shooting areboars that have the STENCH, and I still save the tusks from those. We have lost alot of turkey and deer habitat to hogs and coyotestoo, so I share your disdain for them.

However, my sense of humour may be slightly skewed from others. I think a pic like one the O/P posted is just as good as a trophy pic of a monster deer with a guy behind it grinning ear-to-ear. It certainly portrays someone I would like to go hog hunting with. Someone that likes to have fun and not take it so serious. The kind of pics I hate is someone behind a trophy deer/hog with a frown on. Is he/she that emotionless? Is it unprofessional to show some elation over a kill?

Not criticising, just observing.
