Default Internal Parasite Concern

This may have been discussed on here before. If so, I apologize. I'm worried about the internal parasites and diseases that wild hogs can and do carry. I have a small 5 month dog that goes with me to the farm and has run of the place as long as he's with me. There are enough hogs around that he will be sure to continue to come into contact with where they've been, ate, watered, etc. He seems to be particularly fascinated with the feces. There is no doubt that he has already ingested some hosts that I would have preferred he not have, but I'm not sure what to do about it, exactly. A trip to the vet after every trip to the farm won't cut it. It doesn't seem like the right thing to do to just wait and see if/when he gets sick and then try to treat it. He has had his 7 in 1 shots, and we worm him regularly. Is there anything that I could/should be doing to help protect him as much as possible without leaving him home? I'm sure some of the hog dog guys on here try to protect their valuable possessions so I'm wanting any info I can get to try to keep him/me healthy. If you know of a product or products that I need to be considering, please inform me. Will his rabies vaccine protect him from the pseudo-rabies that wild hogs carry? Thanks in advance for any help in this important matter.

I believe your regular vet check ups and the regular worming should be more than enough,if it wasn't every hog farm in the nation would have rabid, worm infested dogs running around it.

I don't dog hunt so I really can't tell you, but I have friends that dog hunt, and I've never heard them say anything about this being a problem. There are a lot of guys here that do that, maybe someone like Rebel Hog can answer that for ya.
Man dog are great with infections and disease. I've had dogs that got snake bit, and were fine in a few days. I can't say that about how they deal with tires, my wife ran over my best dog, and he never did get over that.Neither did she.

Know some guys who hunt hogs with dogs:None of their dogs have ever had a disease problem. Be careful of your youngdog in hog territory for another reason. Hogs hate dogs with a passion and will go after them if they get too close. Every year there are several bird dogs killed by hogs in this area. Met one guy who lost two dogs to hogs.

I ran Hog Dogs for 45+ years and the only dogs I lost were the ones that the hogs cut open beyond medical attention. As far as internal parasites, Cooked, they are high in Protein!
