If you have your class 2 licence now, there are hogs in Marshall Creek next to Grapevine lake. I don't know where you live, but Grapevine is not far from Decatur. I don't hunt public land because I don't trust most people with guns, but I heard Marshall Creek is over run with hogs.

I live in Ft. Worth, we used to ride dirt bike and atv's there back in the day. I would be hunting with stick and string. What is a class 2 license? Thanks

Keep us posted. I live in Burleson, I have been wanting to investigate Marshall Creek. I forgot about it until I read your post. There are three of us from Burleson that exclusively bow hunt too. We usually hunt East Texas with Txjoruneyman (Greg) on his place.

A class 2 is a license from TPWD to hunt public land. You need a hunters safety course and give the state 40.00.
I thought you had to have one to hunt the grasslands?

No type II permit is required for LBJ National Grasslands. It is not a state WMA. Caddo grasslands does requires one as they are a WMA.

I'm glad to hear that, I have argued that before, and thought, I lost.... Guess I was right!!!...

But you do need one for Marshall Creek. I spoke to a guy that hunts there all the time.
