A hog is a hog.A boar is an adult male hog.A sow is an adult female hog.
Just like turkeys are turkeys, but The adult male is a Tom,and the adult female is a hen.Hope that helps.
Boar is just the term used to describe the sex of hog.

All pigs are hogs. the term "pig" means a young hog or swine, usually under two months or 60 pounds . hog refers to older members of the swine fraternity. A hog producer would probably produce swine for slaughterf and up to slaughter weight. and hAVE THE BREEDING HERD ETC ETC.
