i forgot to add that i have thrown mine in the oven on about 200 for a few hours.....dont cook it, just dry it out.kinda like jerky....stinks a lil......

Oh yeah, it's the skulls all right. The bones absorbed the smell from the nasty water with decaying pig flesh that they were in for a couple of weeks.

I don't know how ants will get rid of the smell, but if I put these skulls on the ground, there are dogs, cats and other critters that would make short work of them.

The long term way of doing it if you're not in a hurry, is to just bury them for about 6 months and then dig'em up and stick'em in a bucket of bleach overnight and use a wire hanger to hang dry them. It takes a lot longer, but it's much less work and mess.

i make sure i put something over it , big enough to where the racoons can't grab it...i learned the hard way, a coon stole the cutters from one of my hogs.....and it has to be heavy enough so a coon cant tip it over.

I might try that next time. I don't mind the work, but it is taking a long time the way I did it anyway, and the smell! Lets just say I would have had some neighbors pissed at me if they figured out where it was coming from.
