Tree Climber,
Thanks for the great advice. By pros I'm talking about those who can consistently drive out with a hog from a WMA while everyone continues to get shunked. I believe your reply is right on and will begin being an inside bayhead hunter from here on. My drive is so far I want to make every hunt a quality hunt which means going on in the inside DEEP where they are at.

totally love it.it's a real challen to hunt the Florida swamps. it seperates the hunters.

when you take an animal in the swamps , you really talk to yourself and reach around and pat yourself on the back.

it is a challage to get in there with them and out smart them in there bedroom. [8D]

Strut; Hunting those bayheads can really get exciting when you step on a log and it starts moving.

Treeclimber; Have you ever hunted Gulf Hummock WMA on the south end near Inglis and Yankeetown? There used to be an old oneness preacher that had a church in the Chiefland area, Bro Slaughter, have you ever heard of him? I never spent time at Chiefland, played a couple of ball games, and took a mare over to Luther White's place to be bred to his Hollywood Gold stud once, but never spent time there.

Snooky : spent many hrs. in Gulf Hammock; walk and worked and hunted all the way from Yankeetown to Cedar Key along the Gulf waters and marsh.took many deer and hogs in that area.hunted there when you didn't need a permit.
as for the preacher , Slaughter, yes heard of him.didn't know him personally.worked with a man that had a uncle from gulfhammock that was a preacher.??? could have been him????

Luther had a champ that was Hollywood Bill ; that was Hollywood Golds daddy.
you know Luther passed away about a year ago.

Tree cilmber; Taking one last big boar out of the Hammock would be lots of fun, but I guess I will have to settle for a few bear and mt. lion hunts instead.

There was some good cutting horses that came out of that Hollywood breeding.
