Yes if the wind is blowing right you can definitely smell them. We hunt them at night a lot and alot of times we will smell them before we realize they are there.

Without a doubt. I have smelled them many times before I saw them. I smelled my way to a spot that still had flies hanging around and saliva hanging from the roots that had just been rooted. I figured thats what they meant by "fresh sign"

Yep...luckily, the smell doesn't affect the taste!
Last year, for my department's Christmas party, I took some roast wild pork, and it was a big hit. Most people had never tasted it, and they were impressed with how goodthe porkwas. The only difference was that wild pork is so much leaner, of course.

I smelled them again last nite whengeting out of truck to openthe gate to leave deer lease! other than that I have not seen them at all not even signs of being around my feeders!
