Help the A.D.D. sight in a Slug Gun!
I've had a shot gun sitting in the closet for years. I decided to pimp it out forcoyotes and hogs. I stripped the gun down cleaned eve & oiled everything. Attached a B-Square andput an old3x9 Bushnell scope on it. After going to the range I decided to swap out thescope. The oldBushnell had so much parallex it was driving me nuts.
My set up:
Mossberg 500A 12ga. Pump
Standard Barrel with a Rifled Choke
B-Square BSA Classic 4x Fixed Scope
Remington Sluggers 2 3/4" 7/8 oz.
Now my question. I sighted the gun initially at 15 yds. It took 2 slugs to get it centered. I stepped off to the 50 yds and couldn't get it on paper? I partially blame the horriblebushnell scope. I tried raising the rifle a few inches high and low to see what might be going on. Still, no paper. When I sighted the old bushnell scope@ 15 yds, i had toclickthe vertical nob all the way down.
If you could give me suggestion on how to get this thing sighted in @ 75 yds I would greatly appreciate it.
Also what is the maximum distance I should shoot a hog and a coyote?

When there is that much of a drastic change in a short yardage change, it is the scope. I've had the same thing happen while I was sighting in my SKS. I had a bad scope mount and every time I shot it, it was coming loose and the same thing happened. Couldn't even find it on the paper, 2 seconds after grouping it.All you will do is drive yourself nuts and blow lots of ammo.If you get those Sabot slugs, you will be able to shoot hogs at 75 yds.Once you get it to stay on the paper of course. I personally use Rottweil Brennekke slugs out of my Ithaca Model 37 pump and it shoots slugs inside of slugs at 50 yds.
