I have a Rem 700 VLS .308 topped with a Burris Black Diamond Scope with Ballistic Mill-Dot reticle(6-24 power). It's supported by a Harris pivot bipod. I turned down, and smoothed out the trigger myself, and free-floated the barrel. It can shoot fist-sized groups at 500 yards consistently. I've use it for hunting all the time, from deer to varmits. The whole gun is over 10lbs though...

Very nice gun there kshunter. i have the 22-250 with a leupold 6x18. I also had to back them screws out of the trigger. i think that is is set at 4lbs from factory.
