I posted a couple months ago asking for opinions on the Mossberg 935. I came to the conclusion that as a multipurpose gun it might not be the best choice. Also, I agree that Mossbergs do tend to shoot lose and rattle after a while. So my next question is the Remington 1187 special purpose. Though it costs more, I think it will be a better buy in the long run and a better overall gun for hunting everything from rabbits to deer to turkeky to ducks and geese. I'm just looking for some opinions or pro's and con's for the Remington 1187. Thanks, bigdavehillbilly

hello Bigdave. If you are going to shoot light loads, ie. trap, skeek, Quail or Dove expect to have occasional malfunctions. My hunting buddy has one and it jams from time to time with light loads. You've got to clean the heck out of them. Same with the Super X II. regards, Rick.

actually dave i own one and i do not have any jamming problems. It can shoot 2 3/4 to 3 1/2 inch shells but with the 2 3/4 inchers there is this little ring thing that you put in the gun (sounds complicated but its not at all) I guess 48th's buddy didnt put his in

Three of my friends had them. All of them had problems with malfunctions. Two of them had several broken parts. Besides their lack of quality. They have fewer features than other models in it's class. They are excessively heavy and have a very barrel heavy balance. For about the same money the Franchi 912 and Winchester SX2 are much better.
