I have a 44mag super blackhawk and am curious as to the durability of red dot scopes by BSA, Simmons, Bushnell or others. Can they handle the recoil? Which one is best in your experience? I would like to use it to stalk for hogs and deer in N. Florida.
Thanks in advance for the help.

bluesranger, I have a BSA red dot on my Taurus .44 mag, and it is working fine. So far no problems with recoil. In the past, I used a Tasco accu dot, and it didn't handle the recoil very well. I am using the 42mm model which helps in finding your target muck quicker. The BSA cost me $59.95 at GanderMountain, not bad!!!

I have had a millet red dot on my ruger super blackhawk for the last three years and it works great. I also had one on my 45-70 contender for a year and it worked good, I took it off and put a scope on it because it is a 150yd gun. I don't feel the red dots are good past 75 yds because the dot starts to block the target when the distance increases.

I use to own a Colt Anaconda .44 mag with 8 1/4" barrel topped with the Tasco pro point with adjustable mil dot's. It handled many shots with no problem. I owned it for about 2 yrs with no problems.
