Congratulations. The Marlin 35 is a pretty good mid-range shooter. My advice would be to mount a quality low zoom scope, load it up with 200 grain bullets, and keep your shots within 150 yards (200 if you're a good shot!). Hit where you aim & the 35 will put down whitetails and blackbear pretty well. If you reload, you can concoct some relatively hot loads from the gun.

Congrats on the trustworthy 35. It is a fine whitetail gun. What model did you get? As for scope mounts check out Cabelas and the Express Sight Systems "Scout Mount" This mounts a long eye relief scope ( pistol scope) forward of the receiver. It balences the gun out very nice and keeps it fast handling. I just installed one on the 336D, that is the Marlin 35 cal guide gun (the baby of the family) Dont forget that round nose or flat loaded in the tube magazine. Pointed bullets could be hazardous to your mush.

It is a 336cs nice gun but i cant get it hitting consistent. I have tried to different gun vices, but still no luck. Should It be consistent at 100yds it has about a four inch pattern. I have shot 40 rounds through it but cant figure it out.
