Is the .22 Hornet a suitable yote gun and a small game gun....i will do heaed shots on the squirrels and rabbits, but would it still blow the bagizzes out of them, or would a .22 mag be better. Thanks a bunch

Well, if you are hunting mainly squirels and rabbits, I would say the 22 hornet is a little too explosive. I would go with the 22 mag or even a 22 long rifle would be plenty.
Just to give you an idea, I've killed several deer with my 22 hornet. Great little gun, but for small game like you mentioned it's kindof overkill IMO.

If I had money for everything, I would get one. Kind of tugs on the heart strings from dad's rabbit hunting days in Nebraska. If you don't reload you might try Winchester's soft point. The Hornet will reach out and get them in the flats where the .22 LR does not have the range. A scope will get you the head shots. And some of the 22 hornet rifles (drool) have the quality. Not noisy, either. Pricy shooting for a rabbit, but then, I like fried rabbit and.... biscuits!!
Would like to hear what rifles you are looking at.
