I own a Glock 22 & 27 and a XD9. I love all three guns and carry all three. The XD's are a great gun, so far I have about 900 rounds through my XD with no problems. They take apart very easy and I do like the trigger better but dislike the trigger reset. I'm learning to live with it
My Glock 27 is also 100% and carries very well. To me the XD .40 SC feels a tad wider but if it feels better to you go for it.
For a wealth of info on the XD, come on over to http://www.xdtalk.com Good guys and some good info on the XD.

I have only owned Taurus and Glock. I have had almost all the Glocks. They are a good gun and worth the money I have had a lot of Taurus revolvers and the 40 S&W semi Auto. You can't go wrong with them either. I guess given the chouce of one, it would be the new 45
Glock.

Thanks Guys, I never had any experience with Springfield weapons. I had decided on the glock 27 until A friend had me look at the XD.40SC.It fits my hand much more comfortably than the glock.I also like the little stainless steel pin on the back of the slide that pops out when a round is chambered.

Actually that pin is a cocking indicator. It let's you know that your gun is cocked. The loaded chamber indicator is located at the top of the slide and is a small bar (for a lack of a better word) that tips up when the chamber is loaded.
The new Glocks (after 01') also have a loaded chamber indicator and it is loacated on the extractor.

Want a pistol that points great. If you haven't purchased yours yet, look into the Steyr M40. It is a well made pistol and unlike the Glock, has a supported chamber. I also like the additional safety on the Steyr.
