favorite gun? id definently say my tc 50cal hawken flinter.....nothing like making smoke with a rock and steel.....more things to worry about in the field and its just a fun way to hunt.....unless im really hunting a buck this year(antlers are nice but i dont care i just love to hunt) im taking the flinter most days.....unless i really think a nice legal buck is going to be in my area i will probably have the flinter....even on opening day of rifle season....its just so much fun.....cant wait to smoke one with it....this is my second year...last year dad told me i shot to many does with the mauser so when flintlock season came he told me if it dont have antlers and i couldnt find someone to take the deer i couldnt shoot it.....didnt see a buck during flinter season....this year will be fun......

Winchester 88 in .308.

I use a 7mm-08 and I think that it is one of the best guns for deer.

My grandad's 1965 Remington M700 in .30-06. Shoots as good today as it did when it came out of the box.

My 1969 Winchester model 70 in 30.06. Unfortunately its not a pre-64 but I like the way it shoots and its never failed me.

My favorite has to be my Rem 700 BDL LH .270 Win. I've taken whitetails and mulies with it from point blank to 300+ yds.
Not saying its the best cal. but its my favorite. I also like the 7mm-08 and the .243. And the old '06 is also pretty fair..LOL .
Just too many good deer cartridges out there.
