If you decide on a blr81(you won't be sorry) there is a .358 for sale on GunsAmerica. Also there is a BLR81 in .257 Roberts for sale at Norma's Sporting Goods in Ironton Mo. Sorry I don't have the number handy, just call info and they will ship. I could tell you a lot about the .358 from field experience but I don't want to sound like a braggart. E-mail me if you wamt a few pictures or more details about the .358. If you really want a .35 Whelen you are much better off finding a used Remington 7600. The triggers on a blr are not bad, I've never done anything to mine and I can shoot one hole three shot groups with my .358"s In the field it really doesn't matter if you are in a quick shooting situation.

i also have a likeing for .358 caliber, i have 2, a marlin 336 in .35 rem. which is far superior in on game performance than the .30-30. and i have a remington 700 in .35 whelen. you didn't mention the model 700 in that caliber, it can be handloaded to take higher pressure loadings than the 7600 pump and will give bolt action performance.
