Default another vote .300 wsm

my vote is for the .300 wsm because you can get it chambered in a featherweight rifle...
so dont complain when you had to lug your 300 ultra mag rifle that weighs 9 lbs around the brush when i only had to carry 6 lbs of rifle all day..lol

And you don't complain about the recoil when firing a 6 lb rifle chambered in the 300wsm.

We've seen two model 70's in .300 wsm this week that will not properly chamber a cartridge. Were still trying to figure that out.

Depending on what WSM you have you probably will not get lighter then 8lbs with a scope (Browning abolt 6 1/2 lbs normal scope and mounts adding 1 1/2lbs) . Some situations a lightweight rifle is nice but a heavier rifle sure makes it easier to connect at long range.

But now, I shoot a 7mm. With a 300win or a 300wsm I dont gain and velocity or energy. But I do like the short mags. I'm thinking about a 300wby or a 300rum. What do you think between the 2?

For what? You gotta provide us with some information about your hunting style and actual needs. What do you want to use a 300 mag for?

Help us help you. Please!

Jack rabbits?
Deer in thick woods?
Deer over long fields?
Elk and moose up close?
Average hunting distances?
Elk at 700 yards?
1000 yard target?
