Well, you've proven my point, nicely. It is becoming more obvious that you are an extremist. one step away from a criminal (or, perhaps, a domestic terrorist).
You're wrong again and yes you have gone to lying.
What about Gore did you vote for him?

They are learning to pick weak spots in the gun owners armor. First, they target things like the so-called "assault weapons." (what a joke! What is an assault weapon?)
Target Puncher....Do you understand the Assault Weapons ban was a compromise by gun owners. Most of us didn't want it ,but alot of us did so the other side won with our compromise. We told the other side this would not do ANYTHING to prevent Gun Crimes and according to the latest BATFE reports WE (the gun owners) WE CORRECT. Your compromising and discussion is how we got to this point as it is.
DID YOU KNOW? Our compromises on the Assault Weapons has now brought about a proposal in legislation named Senate Bill 1431 and House Bill 2038 which would BAN all semi-auto shotguns and rifles with detatchable magazine under the lable of "assault weapons"
Do you own anything in that category?? Most here do!
In fact, thank you all, for replying. I'm not sure that the comment about the "ADT commercial" made by other poster was terribly useful (or made much sense, for that matter)... but thank you anyway.
It refers to you sounding like you would hide behind someone else if someone camr to your door to steal your property...your guns
K lets say they don't actually come and confiscate them. If they make them all illegal then what good are they if you can't go out to the range and shoot them? Didn't Germany have a simular situation? wasn't there a confiscation (after registration) over there? What about England? Who else? Australia? Cananda is going through the steps to confiscation aren't they? Japan? I'll bet others cane come up with a few more....
I guess you have no answers to the tough questions huh TP? Can you explain how these other countries got to where they are. COMPROMISE?
We still haven't heard your plan to keep those people from coming to our doors all we have heard is talk rationally and discuss issues calmly.
Like the BATFE report on the Assault Ban, this too has proven to be a failure!
What are your ideas? Whats your plan? Tell these people how you would protect their rights. With all the comment you've made on this post you have to know what it is we need to do.

You know guys, looking at the number of posts that some of these people that are so quick to give up their, no OUR gun rights, in the name of "compromise" and "being reasonable," shows that most of them are very new members here!
Hmm.....
I am beginning to wonder if we have'nt been invaded by a few anti's, hoping to persuade a few gun owners that they "are one of us" and that we should be more like them, "more reasonable!"
No thanks! We will keep our guns, insist that the existing laws be enforced upon real criminals who use guns, and continue to defend our whole Constitution, by preserving the Second Amendment!

Oops, got in here a little late. But still, this post is very relevant to me.
I would never turn over a possession protected by the inalienable human rights our founders recognized and believed so strongly in. On top of that, I/we are protected by the Bill of Rights. And I would not hesitate to use my firearms to defend myself or my family, even if that means exposing myself to the authorities.
I'm not the kind of guy who goes looking for trouble; I'm just now getting started on this "American Dream" thing, and I want to see it through. But if the police or military come to seize my weapons, they'll get them muzzle first, if you know what I mean. That would be a terrible thing to have to go through (on all sides), but that is the real reason that we have the Second Amendment to begin with.
If Americans can fight and die on foreign soil to protect us, then American gun owners can fight and die on domestic soil to protect our rights and the integrity of our republic. It's a heart-breaking concept to imagine, but we must stay firm in our principles.

It seems that one of the biggest lies that the anti's have perpetuated, is that anyone who stands up for the Second Amendment, and the NRA in particular, are radicals and extremists, who are holed up in the backwoods, itching for trouble!
The vast majority of us are just plain old, down to earth, hard working, common sense , people! We come from all walks of life, all races, colors, and creeds! We recognize the unique freedoms we have as Americans, and we share the common goal of preserving the Second Amendment, because we understand that the freedom we enjoy, was bought at a steep price!
We also know that the Second Amendment is one of the strongest foundations, that our Constitution is built upon! None of this makes us radicals or extremists!
I am not saying that people who are neutral, or even SOME of the anti's, don't share some of these beliefs. They are for the most part, misinformed and/or under the delusion that our freedoms will always be protected by the government!
We, as our forefathers understand that this is not, and never will be a perfect world, and that we need the Second Amendment right to protect our selves from within and from without!
The Second Amendment, is not a hunting right, and certainly not just a privilege! It is a duty! And it is a duty that most of us here take very seriously! No, we are not looking for trouble, but we will meet it head-on, if it comes our way!

Personally I am suspicious to these "NEW" members who are pretending to be someone, whom by the very defination of their posts can't really be. Most of us have been here for years and they think we can be fooled or haven't seen their kind post the same rhetoric before.
Let them compromise! I would like them to repeal some gun laws and then we'll talk.

I know better than to do this, but got to give my two cents.
I believe that guns will be outlawed before my grandchildren are my age, 55. That will be one sad day for this country. However, and I don't care what anybody calls me, I WILL NOT SURRENDER MY GUNS TO ANYBODY!!!! I didn't spend 20 plus years in the military to give up my rights. That's all that needs to be said.

TP, you keep referring to the police and the "lawful" pursuit of their duties. I would argue that not all laws are lawful. In Nazi Germany it was "lawful" for German soldiers to send Jews to their deaths in concentration camps or, if necessary, execute them on sight I suppose. Get the picture?
Any law designed to confiscate our guns can never be "lawful", much less constitutional. An officer of the law would have a duty not to obey such a law just as the soldiers of the Third Reich should not have obeyed their orders to send millions of innocents to the gas chambers. If a policeman, sheriff or whatever acted upon such a law, he'd be no better than one of those Nazi soldiers in my opinion.
But if my worst nightmare somehow became reality and police officers showed up on my doorstep to confiscate my weapons, I doubt I'd resort to any kind of violence at that moment. Wouldn't be smart at all. I'd only end up dead or in jail. You see, my guns would have been secreted away well before they arrived so I could use them later in a coordinated effort if necessary. "No officer, I have no guns. I sold them to someone long ago for cash and I didn't get his name or address."
But alas, I'm not too worried about ever having to face such a scenario. I may be naive, but I just don't ever see it happening. The law officers I know and respect would never abide by it.
"This year will go down in history. For the first time a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient and the world will follow our lead into the future!" - Adolph Hitler, 15 April 1935, in an address to the Reichstag
