Default Winchester 70 or Remington 700?

Which one do you prefer and why? Which one has greater accuracy out of the box? Thanks

I have had the best luck with 700's and use these actions for all my custom rifles.

Flip a Coin, I have both and one is not any better than the other out of box. I have to agree on Win 70 safety though, I do like it better.

My first bolt-action centerfire rifle was an M721 Remington, predecessor to the M700. The reason was, I could not afford the extra $35.00 for an M70 Winchester. I still feel the same way today.

Winchester: Steel bottom metal - Controled round action- Massive claw extractor - hand rubbed stock - Direct firing pin blocking safty - simple compound lever trigger - Field strippablebolt. Remington: Plastic bottom metal - Non controled action - flimsy pressed sheet metal extractor - Plastic sprayed on finish -Safty built into sheet metal trigger -trigger does tripple duty, also a bolt stop and a safty Non field strippable bolt. Requires a special tool. I like remington but they have cut so many corners that I almost always take Winchester hunting with me. Dont like taking chances with second best. (I and two friends have had trouble with new remington plunger ejectors sticking)
