Does anyone know how to get your gun dealer license in PA or where i can find information on it. Anything would be greatly appreciated, I have been looking on the internet but have yet to find anything.

Are you sure you want a FFL????? Do some research and see if you really want to subject yourself to all the headaches that go along with a FFL.For many years I threw the idea around.I talked to several people who have or had FFL's. The Clinton Administration made it harder to get FFL's. Clinton eliminated or reduced the number of FFL holders. Most of the people I talked to said it was more trouble then it was worth and gave them up.Unless you're going in to the gun business big time ,it's not worth fooling with.Dealing with BATF is one problem.Because you have an FFL doesn't mean you'll get super deals.The bigger dealers come first when it comes to the distrubutors. The ones who do the most business get the cream of the crop you might say.BATF can come at anytime of the day to search your records.After thinking about it for a long time I decided to pay the extra or pay the transfer fee and let someone else worry about the paperwork and all the headaches that go along with having a FFL.Clinton really put the screws to FFL Dealers.He imposed more regulations. You must have a regular store front with set business hours. To eliminate the partime at home dealers. If I'm wrong I would like to be corrected.That is my understanding about the store and set hours of operation.

Firearms Businesses
If you are thinking of starting a firearms business, including a
museum, here is some information you need to know about requirements
that will affect you under Canada's Firearms Act. This information
also applies to any private-sector organization that possesses
firearms.This fact sheet summarizes the main requirements applying to
businesses under Canada's Firearms Act and its supporting regulations.

Licence Requirements
Businesses and organizations, including museums,Your business or
organization will need a valid firearms business licence to possess,
manufacture or sell firearms, restricted or prohibited weapons,
prohibited devices, or prohibited ammunition. Although a licence is
not required under the Firearms Act to possess businesses do not need
a licence to possess regular ammunition, a licence is required to
sell ammunition. A separate business licence is required for each
location where the business operates.

Licence fees vary according to the business activities. Businesses
that are involved in more than one activity will only have to pay for
the activity with the highest fee. There are only a few specific
purposes for which a your business may be licensed to possess
prohibited itemsfirearms, weapons, devices and ammunition that
are .prohibited. These purposes are listed in section 22 of the
Firearms Licence Regulations for businesses.

To apply for a firearms business licence, submit form number 672. You
can obtain it the form from the Chief Firearms Officer (CFO) of your
province by calling 1 800 731-4000.

To be eligible for a firearms business licence, your business must
meet the following requirements:

All employees who handle firearms for employment purposes must have a
valid Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL), or a valid Firearms
Acquisition Certificate (FAC).
Employees only need to be licensed to acquire non-restricted firearms
if that is the only class of firearms the business possesses;
Employees must be licensed to acquire restricted firearms if the
business possesses restricted or prohibited firearms.
Employees do not need a firearms licence if the business has
restricted or prohibited weapons, prohibited devices or prohibited
ammunition but no firearms. However, they need to be eligible for a
firearms licence. In other words, although they do not have to submit
a licence application, they must be able to pass a background check
and there can be no court orders prohibiting them from possessing
firearms or other regulated items.
Certain people connected to the business will also need to be
eligible for a licence, particularly if they have a direct influence
on the business or could have access to firearms held by the
business. These would include, for example, owners, partners,
directors, and members of their immediate families.
The law sets out certain conditions that must be attached to a
business licence. For example, businesses cannot depict or promote
violence in advertising their goods. The CFO may attach additional
conditions at their discretion.

Registration Requirements
All firearms in a business' inventory, including frames and receivers
that have not yet been assembled as complete firearms, need to be
registered. Firearms you acquire from a Canadian source will be
registered to your business during the transfer process (see below).
To register newly imported firearms, submit form 678. This form can
be downloaded from our web site at www.cfc-cafc.gc.ca or obtained by
calling 1 800 731-4000.

There are no registration fees for businesses.

Firearms registered to a business must have been verified by an
approved verifier. Generally, any firearms that you acquire from a
licensed Canadian firearms business and some firearms acquired from
an individual will already have verified status. It may be possible
for you or one of your employees to be trained and approved to verify
new imports and other firearms that have not yet been verified. For
help in finding an approved verifier, or for more information on how
to become an approved verifier, call 1 800 731-4000.

Transferring Firearms
Your business can apply on-line to transfer any class of firearm to
another licensed business, and to transfer non-restricted firearms to
an individual. The firearms will be registered to the new owner as
part of the transfer process. Only non-restricted rifles and shotguns
may be transferred online from an individual to a business or vice
versa. The individual needs to be present during the transfer. To be
able to use the online services, you will need to obtain a Business
Identification Number (BIN) from your CFO.

Safe Storage, Display and Transportation
Businesses must comply with the Storage, Display and Transportation
of Firearms and Other Weapons by Businesses Regulations. For more
information, please contact your provincial CFO. All of the CFOs may
be contacted by calling 1 800 731-4000.

There may also be additional requirements under provincial and
municipal laws, regulations and bylaws.

Ammunition Businesses
As indicated earlier, the Firearms Act does not require a business or
organization to be licensed to possess regular ammunition, but a
licence is required to sell ammunition and your customers will need a
licence to be able to buy it. There may also be licence and storage
requirements under the Explosives Act, which is administered by
Natural Resources Canada. You may find more information on their web
site at www.nrcan.gc.ca.

From your question, I deduce that you are NOT talking about an FFL, but a PA gun dealer's license?? If so, I find the state gov't of PA is able to do almost anything one is interested in via the state's many web sites, including get a driver's license, renew your vehicle registration, file all tax returns, buy a hunting license, etc. Do a google search on the subject - bound to be a site for this!!

But I'm sure you realize that both state and federal licenses are required to be a firearms dealer in most states. I don't know if this is true in PA, but it is sure the case in NY!!

It is the legal requirement to ensure that the location of the firearm is the same as the shipping address on the license. There are a couple of states that demand you post a bond through an authorized surety company before you can obtain your license.
