Default Savage 24F question...

Hi, new poster here. I bought a Savage 24F that came with a one peice b square mount/base from the factory. My question is: what kind of rings do i need to buy that clamp on that mount? I've looked around some and so far all I can find is 1" "interlock" rings? Is that what I'm supposed to get? I don't know if the base is a "dovetail" mount or something else. I'm not entirely sure about the terminology. I'm itching to get a scope on this thing! Thanks.

I'm working from memory, and CRS may have set in, but i "think" that base accepts "Weaver split rings"? Perhaps takeing the gun to a gunsmith and ask him what rings it takes would be a good idea?

I'm pretty sure it takes the Weavers though.

If the mount on your 24 is only attached to the barrel on one side, you're going to have problems with the scope moving. It took me forever to figure out what the problem was with mine. With the mount only being hooked on one side it WILL move with pressure.

I had a gunsmith tack weld the other side, and it has shot like a dream ever since.

You bought a fine weapon, by the way.
