ACCURATE SAVAGE 7MM-08
I previously had a NEF 7mm-08 which I still have and was having some difficulty getting it to shoot accurately. I finally acheived groups of around best, 1 1/2" to average 2" or so. I was getting aggravated and figured I would go for the most accurate I knew of, a Savage. So I bought a Savage 110 in 7mm-08 and mounted my scope this morning. I bore sighted it and went out to shoot. My first one was 3" hi. My second one was 3 inches left. My next 3 shots was right over the orange bullseye on the edge and the group measured 3/4". Thats what I'm talking about! Now thats a group to be proud of. I am so excited and glad. These Savage's really are some good, accurate shooting rifles and Im proud to own one. By the way, that group was shooting factory Rem Core Lokt ammo. Can't wait to get some reloads in there. I am so glad I took the plunge and bought this Savage rifle. Thanks.

Brian, congrats on your purchase. Did you get that new trigger they talk so much about, and how do you like it?
Did you fire any more groups to see what it was going to do consistantly? 3/4" groups is great for a factory rifle, and if it'll do that all the time, you'll be hard pressed to get it better, even with reloads. Core-Lokts have taken alot of game and are a good round even though opinions differ. If it's shooting those like that all the time, you will be in the best of luck as they are about the cheapest hunting ammo out there.

I bought a savage 110 in 25-06 and with reloads my best group was .625, with 75gr seirra's. That is without any trigger work and the stock scope. I shot consistent .75-1" groups with 100gr balistic tips. I sold the gun to my dad and he shot a .5" group with 120gr partitions, after putting a better scope on. I have a 110 in 30-06 and it is just as accurate. I have herd a lot of good things about the new accutrigger.

I just won one of the 110's in 25-06 in a raffle. I can't wait to get to the range and see what it'll do...they aren't much to look at, but to be honest pretty is as pretty does, and if it's a shooter it'll be pretty to me (and it ought to be a shooter). I've shot many of them for friends, sighting them in before deer season, but this is the first Savage I've actually owned.

I have a Savage 7mm-08 that I use for 600+ yards just for woodchuck hunting only. First thing a I did was put a aftermarket trigger on it and my groups shrunk in half. If you wan't my "secret" load let me know...
