Default Question about the H&R single shots

Well, I looked at these guns that everyone has been saying are so good, and for that price I think I will buy one. My question is, I like the stick of the Ultra better than the Handi rifle. But the handi rifle has more barrel options. Can you buy the handi rifle barrels for the Ultra? Or do you have to buy Ultra barrels for the Ultra? I will probably buy a 25-06, but I would like to get as many standard caliber barrels as possible over time.

Looks like a real well built, fun gun. Thanks!

As frizzellr said, all rifle frames may be fitted with additional rifle, shotgun and muzzleloader barrels. I bought an Ultra in .308 and will soon be adding a shotgun barrel and probably a .223. They are fun little rifles.

Cool fellas, thanks for the replies. I think I am going to buy that Ultra in 25-06 and go from there. I will use this one for coyotes, deer, antelope, and probably some prarie dogs. Should be a nice bridge between my 22-250 and the 7mm Ultra mag.

BB1895,

H&R singles are indeed fine. But before you hand your $$$ over to a gunshop-make sure it is one that could have answered this question for you. If there's something I can't stand (& absolutely refuse to do business with) it is a shop without the answers to the questions).

I got some pretty fancy guns but the NEF 280 that I have with the 26 inch barrel and the Swift 3X9X40 scope will handle anything in North America and I have every confidence in its ability to do so. It is really the only rifle I would ever need. However its not the only rifle I want. I have an NEF 223 and also a NEF 44 Mag rifle. I will soon get a 30-30, 45-70 and maybe a 22 Hornet barrel. Oh and the Huntsman Muzzle loader barrel for my NEF shotgun. OK I'm hooked on the NEF'S
