waever style fip to side scope mounts
anyone ever use these things?
it is a scope that is mounted to a rings and mount. so if you want to use your sights you would un0click it and flip it to the left and would hinge to the side of the gun.
do they keep a zero when doing this? are they worth the $$$

RE: waever style fip to side scope mounts
When my grand dad gave me his Win Mod 100 in 308 it had those mounts on it. In order for the scope to flip over, the latches needed to be a little loose. Unfortunatly, the scope would move a fraction of an inch. I never did a real test of the mounts, I just took them off. Having a scope that can move any amount cant be good. I now have unders on it. They are better but I have to lift my cheek off the butt stock to look through it.

Quilly, do yourself a favour and forget the flip overs or see-thrus. Years ago when I thought see-thrus were the ticket for a moose gun my hunting partner thought the flip overs were as well...well to make a long story short both didn't make it on a hunting trip. [:'(]
IMHO waste of money and time, I would much rather have a solid scope or if the area dictated it iron sights, there is no magic mount that will give you the best of both worlds...sorry.
