I just read that Remmington is coming out with a long action youth rifle (Model 700). Chambered in .270 Win and .30-06 Sprg. They are also coming out with reduced loads in both chamberings. They say designed for game the size of deer (to get reduced recoil they also reduced the velocity)

A .30-30 performance from a short stocked .30-06 for the youngster and several years later we get a new stock full sized and graduate to the full power ammo.....

There seems to be merit in that idea.....

I also read something about the reduced loads. Seems there was also one for the 7MM RM. I might try them! Would be nice to have 7MM-08 ballistics for my 7 mag!
