I purchased the Leupold ScopeSmith that’s a magnetic boresighter. I paid quite a bit of $$ for it and as far as I’m concern it’s not worth it. I’m just talking about the magnetic one as for the boresighters such as the Bushnell with the arbors, I have never used it so I can’t comment on it.4

I use a bushnell boresighter and over the 15 years or so that I have used it ,it has never failed to get me on the paper at 100 yards. It has more than paid for itself in the ammo that it has saved me.

I've had a Bushnell for about 25 years now. it is certainly worth buying for two reasons:
1. It'll save you a lot of ammo when you are first starting to zero in a newly mounted scope, or the iron sights on a new rifle.
2. When you travel to a hunting area, it is not always possible to fire a shot or two to make sure your zero has not changed, even though you should, if you can! However, if you keep records of where your scope's crosshairs are pointing on the adjustment grid of the borescope, you can slip it onto the gun and check to make sure the scope has not changed since you set it when you last zeroed the gun.

If you have a boltaction rifle where the bolt can be removed and you can visually see thru the barrel, you can use distant vertical and horizontal lines (like telephone poles and rooftops to sight your scope...as a matter of fact when you get a little used to it you can do as well as a boresighter.
Those with levers and autos and pumps will not be able to do this.
