I am looking for a good deer rifle for around $500 dollars. What rifle is a good one for around this price. If you could please leave some good rifle packages too, or if a rifle package isnt as good as a rifle by its self and a good scope please list a scope too

The Remington 700 ADL's are nice, along with the Savage packages, Winchester Packages, and any could be topped with a decent scope out of Cabela's. Also, don't overlook a good handling lever action rifle, such as the Marlin's. They are sweet shooters that can be had in 30-30, .35 Rem., 45/70, or a good stout pistol round such as the .44 mag, .45 Colt, or the hotter ones like the .480. Good luck!

BigBore. Do you happen to know what all pistol calibers are available in the Marlin Lever Action?? I am going to get one and probably only one. I kind of figured on the 44 Mag but never thought about the 480 or any bigger ones. I have a Marlin 47-70 lever but I could use something big bore with a little less killing power on the frendly end.

Well, I heard alot of chatter that Marlin was going to chamber a lever gun for the new .500 S&W Magnum. I will definitely own one of those. They have one chambered for the .480 Ruger, I can't remember which one, the website won't load right now. I have seen it on the site but haven't seen one in the shops. They are also about to release one chambered in .475 Linebaugh, if they haven't already. Those would all be awesome. But, for something you want to shoot alot, I would probably get the .44 magnum and top it with a nice ghost ring sight, unless you reload. If you do, wait till they get that .500 perfected, buy the dies, and shoot the hell out of it. Let us know what you decide!

I would not go for a rifle scope package because eventually you may land up replacing the scope plus mounts, and there is no use in buying these components twice. I think I would look at a Winchester Model 70, or a Tika. Good luck.

remington 700 ADL's are a good " workhorse " gun. so are the remington 7600 pumps. have always gotten decent groups out of them in 308win and 280rem.
also take a look at savage. they have good guns and some good package guns for about or under $500.00

For a package gun it's hard to beat Savage and every one i've ever bought shot good out of the box. The Remington ADL is also a very good choice if your going to buy the gun and add a scope later.
