Hey guys, I was just wondering if any of you had any experience with Black Hills ammunition. I shot my 30-06 encore rifle today using the Black Hills 165 grn ballistic tip. I know they only offer a few calibers and are new to the hunting ammuntion industry. I know they were very popular in the past with match shooter. I was very impressed with the groups, all around 1 inch, some less. I was just wondering if anyone had used them on game already(In any caliber). I am just using mine on PA whitetails so I know it is more than enough. Thanks.

Black Hills Ammunition is very highly regarded for making quality ammo at pretty good prices. They really got started loading pistol and 223 Ammo but have recently branched into the premium ammo with thier Black Hills Gold line of hunting ammo. These are loaded with Barnes and Nosler and most likely other premium bullets. They are located in Radid City SD. A good outfit that I have dealt with for years when I was a gun dealer.

BC,
I' ve been using Black Hills in my 223. They are loaded with the Hornady V-Max. They' re terrific for ground hog. They work really well for turkey also. I' ve tried many other factory loads in my 223, but mine seems to like the BH the best. My best group being .566" (five shot @ 100 yds.) I' ve never tried BH in any of my other calibers but if it works for you, go for it.
