I' m looking to buy a deer rifle and I want to know peoples opinions on the Tikka T3 and the Browning A-bolt stainless stalker. Which one would you rather have, and why. Thanks!

I don' t have a lot of experiance with browning, but the tikka has proven to be a dead on tack driver in my book. I have one in their continential long range hunter in 7mm with a shepherd scope and let me just say if I miss there is only one reason and it is not the gun or scope. Tikka is a proven tack driver right out of the box.

I just posted to your other post. But you answer the question here. I' d go T3 in .270 or 7mm. 7mm is big for whitetails, but is a good all around caliber for a one gun hunter. I shoot a savage .270 and a Tikka .338. Both are great guns.

Well, I' ve had a few Brownings, and I love them. But, my last purchase was the Tikka Whitetail Hunter and I don' t regret it. It is an awesome rifle for the money. The Browning is good too, and I love the features on the Browning, like the detachable magazine, adjustable trigger, 60 degree bolt throw, and the tang safety. Wait, the Tikka has most of those too!!!! And, the adjustable trigger on the Tikka is a lot nicer. Can easily adjust down to 2 lbs.
The .270 (in my opinion) is the best small to medium game cartridge there is. It will knock the socks off of prairie dogs (without having the blistering speeds that eat up barrels), and do the same on everything up to and (in some cases) including Elk.
