Default High-end rifles

Not that I' m in the market, but I' m curious to hear your opinions. I' m sure it' s really a matter of opinion. With that aside...

What are the very best rifles when money is not an issue?

Anything from .22s to big game rifles.

Not that I could ever afford one, but Dakota Arms have some purdy looking stuff.

Well, I can' t see spending $1,500.00 + for a rifle when you can get a Tikka for around $600.00 that has a 1" group guarantee. But then again, if you want that same accuracy with a not-so-common caliber, the custom rifle is the way to go.

First of all if money isn' t an issue, we' re not going deer hunting....we' re hunting cape buffalo and some additional plains game. Searcy and Merkel make fine double rifles starting at $8,500 and up. There' s a lot of fine custom makers of bolt rifles and these usually start at about $3,000. Winchester' s custom shop has rifles of fine quality and many run over $3,000.

I agree...Dakota would get my interest as well

A H Fox would be visited for a shotgun and then a visit to the SCI convention in Nevada in January to find a custom maker of rifles that specialize in customs on Montana 1999 and pre-64 actions.

I' d probably stop by Gary Reeder' s place for a fine custom handgun too.

Dakota arms makes beautiful rifles, shotguns, single shots, cowboy actions, etc... starting at $2200 up to $25,000.

Ultra light arms. http://www.newultralight.com/

H.S. Precision http://hsprecision.com/

Cooper firearms. http://www.cooperfirearms.com/

You could then step up to actually having a custom rifle made from one of the great custom gunsmiths around and spend who knows how much.
