Searcy and Merkel make fine double rifles starting at $8,500 and up. There' s a lot of fine custom makers of bolt rifles and these usually start at about $3,000. Winchester' s custom shop has rifles of fine quality and many run over $3,000.

A H Fox would be visited for a shotgun and then a visit to the SCI convention in Nevada in January to find a custom maker of rifles that specialize in customs on Montana 1999 and pre-64 actions.

I' d probably stop by Gary Reeder' s place for a fine custom handgun too.
