Ok, I' m not trying to step on anyone' s toes, but I sometimes find it funny the way some people think...kind of along these lines: I' m sure we' ve all heard the story about the woman interviewing an armory sgt. about a ' recent' kid' s shooting program...she asked, " isn' t teaching kids to shoot equipping them to be killers" , he responded, " you' re equipped to be a prostitute, but you' re not are you?"

The other day in the lab, a buddy and I were talking about what we' d like to have for dinner, it ran on that he didn' t really like meat, not on principle, just on taste=respectable, then this gal that we work with came over and claimed " I could never eat anything with four legs" , so I asked, " why not, and what would you eat?" she replied " because dogs and cats have four legs, so it' s like eating a dog or cat to eat a cow, pig, or sheep, but I' ll eat things with two legs, like chicken poultry" .....ok, I guess she missed the fact that HUMANS have two legs!!!!!

I reiterate, I' m not meaning to step on any toes, but it surely falls under this category " What was the SKS made for?" - in context to imply that it was made only to kill people...lest we forget that countless other arms, catridges, and other miscellaneous items were created with killing people in mind...and again, by owning an SKS (or any other gun) I may be equipped to be a killer, but I' m not a prostitute either.

I' m forgetting a lot of others that I' ve heard, but these are what are fresher to memory...any of yall have any?

The " I could never eat an animal that was once living and breathing" really gets me.

What really gets me with these people, PETA members, and the so called vegetarians and vegans is that they somehow have a problem with the killing of animals for food and clothing but they don' t mind living in the cushy house where there might have been a huge prarie dog town wiped out by the sub division that they live in. They don' t mind driving on the roads and through the city where countless animals used to live but were killed and driven off so we could drive and shop. They don' t think about the animals that got run over and cut up by the farm equipment that provides the grain that they eat. I' ll even be willing to bet that many even have leather upholstry in their vehicles. They' ll squash a roach, fly, or spider in a heart beat but they can' t actually eat meat.

" The animals are being tortured when they are slaughtered" . I guess dying of starvation during a hard winter or being eaten alive by wolves and bears is so much more relaxing for the animal.

I agree with you on the SKS. Guess all the elk and deer that have fallen to the 1903 Springfield 30-06 is wrong also along with the Enfield .303 and not to mention the millions of Mausers that have been used to take game.... If I ever get the money I' m really going to be a bad boy when I get my AR-10

I think you hit the nail on the head! It' s not about " facts" or " thinking" . It' s only " feelings" that count! Facts are not important...after all they only " clutter" your " feelings" !

If we are fourtunate....(and can manage to roll back the overwhelming apathy and ignorance we' ve managed to foster).....we may one day return to a nation of people with the ability, and willingness, to " think" critically. There may still be hope!

And for anyone that " thinks" this is just " strictly about guns" (minus the issues).....I like the .30-06 cartridge!!!!!!
