Just got back from an Illinois bowhunt. While I was up there I met a cousin of my buddy who took me up there on the hunt. He fancies himself an expert rifle shooter and is always tinkering around with new guns, scopes and bullets which he reloads himself. The first day up there he produces a scope which he says won' t stay sighted in. Says he sent it back to Leupold twice and they sent it back both times saying they could find nothing wrong with it. He wants to see if we can sell it for him. My friend Steve tells me that this guy is a little weird and always blames any accuracy problems he has on his scopes. My buddy Steve has two of this guys former scopes on his guns right now that this guy said the same thing about. Steve says the scopes are fine and he' s never had a problem with them. The scope is a like new , Matte black Leupold Vari X III 6.5 to 20 power with a 50mm adjustable objective, multicoat 4 lenses and a duplex recticle. Not a scratch or mark on it. I have mounted it on a gun and it shoots true as any scope I have ever seen. Guy wants 300 bucks. Opinions?

Take it and run far...far away! It has a lifetime warrenty so if anything happens to it, just send it back to Leupold. I have two VX2' s with no problems, and don' t forsee any! Better buy it now, before the price goes up!

I have a buddy who does the exact same thing always blames equipment for his poor results...funny how someone else will shoot the setup and achieve good results. Anyway I would say RUN with it but dont pay a dollar over 299
. Sounds like a good guy to know, he' ll probably have another scope, gun or whatever to sell next year.
