Just remember for a 30-06 you really don' t want to go with a compact scope. The Leupolds definitely have the edge on eye relief. As far as quality glass goes, Leupold, Nikon, Pentax and the B&L / Bushnell Elites are all excellent choices. Like I said the Leupold' s have the edge with eye relief after that I would rate the optic quality about the same of all that I mentioned. The real difference is price. Do yourself a favor and don' t buy a cheap scope.

A couple tchicken left off are Burris (who makes Pentax light seekers) and Zeiss Conquest (who' s price, warranty and rep is very good).
Price is always a concern just buy as much as you can and match it up with solid rings and bases. All I use are loopys bases/rings, never had a problem and worth a few extra dollars imho.
