Default Mossberg 500 Slug Gun trigger

I talked with a guy who does gunsmithing and he said that you cannot " lighten" the trigger, per say, but you can smooth the parts to make it pull smoother. If this is so, can I do this myself> any links or info would be appreciated. thanks

For the 20-40 bucks the smith (who has done many, many more triggers that you) would charge you should just " pay the man" . When (if) you screw it up it will cost you probobly atleast twice that or more to replace the parts.
