Default Taurus Shooting Experience

Well I took that .22 revolver to the range today accuracy not bad, not match grade but acceptable. Reliability fair it would light off CCI's Mini-mags and Stingers but not anything by PMC about 1in5 would not go bang of 3 diff. types.I did buy the gun knowing it had problems lighting off Win. .22's so I was not surprized when it had trouble with another brand. Well I'll carry Stingers in it most of the time anyway so it's not a problem to me.

What kind of revolver? Sounds like a week hammer / mainspring, it might not cost a lot to get it fixed.

Just my uneducated opinion!

Try brownells or midwayusa to look for a main spring for that. was it new or used, if used then there might have been some previous owner tinkering to try and get a lighter trigger pull, or maybe justa worn out spring

Taurus has a Lifetime Warranty. Send it back to Taurus ,have them check it out and make the necessary repairs. Sounds like a weak mainspring or maybe the hammer is hanging up slightly not letting it fall at full force. If it was right it should fire all brands of 22's not just a select few.Ruger Redhawk

I'll put a stronger after market spring in it. Taurus tends to have weaker springs, a buddy had to do the same with a .38 snubbie he bought new. And no the gun was NOT tinkered with by the previous owner becuase I was there at the shop when he traded in the gun and heard him describe the problem.

Hope you get it straightened out BigEd. It's probably the spring like you said.Ruger Redhawk
